The Tropical Flower Tour

Heliconia del Caribe is a farm dedicated to grow and export tropical flowers and foliage, since 1990.

The farms are located in the eastern region of the country, in  Siquirres, Limon. Just two hours from San Jose and one our from Limon.

The company owns 30 hectares (74 Acres) under production of: Heliconias, musas, costus, cordylines, palms, calatheas, philodendron, alpinias, among others, offering more than 150 different varieties all year around.

We have develop our activities in an environmental friendly manner, using trees for natural shade, 70% of our land in production is cover by natural shade, therefore you will also watch some fauna, specially a lot of birds and butterflies.

The tour consist in an introduction, and explanation of the tropical flower industry, then you will by guided through the plantations, were you will learn every thing since the preparation of the soil until the flowers are ready to cut and transport to the packing hose.

Once in the packing hose you will see the hole process, every step will be explained, since the flowers arrive from the fields until they are packed and ready to be exported.

This is a real operation, and there are no cosmetic changes to the farms, the only thing we improve was the trails, to make sure that waking through the farm will be easy.
